Militaris suppellex. Luigi Ferdinando Marsili e gli armamenti dell’antichità
Luigi Ferdinando Marsili was the founder of Istituto delle Scienze (Science Institute) and played an important role in the 18th century Bologna cultural scene.
The exhibition at the Archaeological Museum curated by Marinella Marchesi and Paola Giovetti, presents a part of the rich Marsili's archaeological collection composed of Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek as well as many Roman objects. The collection became a patrimony of the Archaeological Museum in 1881.
The exhibition falls within "Il Mondo di Luigi Ferdinando Marsili" (Luigi Ferdinando Marsili's World), the programme of events organized on the occasione of the 3rd Centenary of the foundation of the Istituto delle Scienze.
